Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates. In a very short period of time they have established themselves as a major player in the airline industry. Since their inception in 2003 their network has grown to include an impressive 84 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America.
There are strict rules governing the transport of animals to the United Arab Emirates. With the exception of falcons (travelling to specific locations only) and certified service dogs, Etihad will only accept pets for transport in the cargo hold of their aircraft. Whether your pet is transported in the cabin or in the cargo hold, proper documentation must be produced for any animal travelling in or through the UAE as well as any country of transit or destination. For further information regarding the transport of animals to and from the UAE they recommend that you contact a customer service representative.
If your pet will be travelling unaccompanied, Etihad Cargo's Live Animal program may be able to help. They operate in compliance with all International Air Travel Association (IATA) regulations. Please contact a Customer Care agent for further details.
Pets may not be accepted on flights operated by codeshare partners. It is strongly recommended that you contact any codeshare partners or other airlines directly to familiarize yourself with their individual policies regarding pet travel.
