Philippine Airlines (PAL)

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is the national carrier of the Philippines and has its main hub in Manila. PAL currently operates a flight network that includes 29 domestic destinations and some 31 international stops in Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Canada, Hawaii, and the contiguous United States.

They currently accept pets for transportation as checked baggage only. They also remind anyone travelling with animals that most countries have very specific guidelines, rules, and regulations governing the arrival of animals from beyond their borders.

Pets and carriers are not considered part of a passenger's free baggage allowance: excess baggage fees will apply.

CARRIER SIZE PAL does not accept pets for in-cabin transportation.

Size will vary according to the size of the animal being transported.

PAL bases their fee schedule on the following two sizes of containers:

  • Pet and container measuring 203 cm (80 in) or less.
  • Pet and container measuring over 203 cm (80 cm)

PAL may base their fee schedule on the following:

  • Less than 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • More than 23 kg (50 lbs)

Note: for regional and domestic flights the following categories may apply:

  • Pet and container weighing 1-4 kg (2-9lbs)
  • Pet and container weighing 5 kg (11 lbs) and over.
CHARGES / FEES N/A Either a piece or weight system will be applied, depending on the point of departure and the point of destination. Please contact a Reservations agent for details.

  • Travelers are reminded that every country has different rules and regulations governing the acceptance and transportation of animals. It is strongly recommended that you contact the consulate, embassy, or government authority for any country (or countries) you will be visiting to ensure that you have met all entrance requirements.
  • For all animals travelling to Japan as checked baggage or as freight cargo, the Animal Bureau of Japan must be notified at least 40 days prior to the arrival of the animal.
  • Space for pet travel is limited. Please call before you travel to confirm a space for your pet.

If you are unable to travel with your pet

If your pet will be travelling unaccompanied PAL Cargo may be able to help. They currently offer shipping options for Live Animals that provide the special attention and care that your pet deserves.

Codeshare flights

Pets may not be accepted on flights operated by codeshare partners. It is strongly recommended that you contact any codeshare partners or other airlines directly to familiarize yourself with their individual policies regarding pet travel.
