Air Canada is the largest airline in Canada and a proud member of Star Alliance, the world's largest airline network. They operate internationally, nationally, and regionally with Air Canada Express flights operated by Jazz, Air Georgian, Exploits Valley Air, and Sky Regional.
Currently, they will only allow passengers to travel with a small cat or dog in the cabin, provided the animal is small enough to fit comfortably in an approved carrier and can be safely stored under the seat in front of you. All other animals must travel as either checked baggage or as manifest cargo in the hold of the aircraft.
Air Canada also reminds travelers that in-cabin pet carriers will count toward your carry-on baggage allowance.

If you are unable to travel with your pet, Air Canada Cargo can provide options. They have extensive experience shipping a variety of animals: everything from dogs and cats, to tropical fish, insects, even hatching eggs. The cost of shipping will largely depend on the point of origin and the destination, the type of animal being shipped, and the dimensions and/or weight of the carrier.
Air Canada Cargo operates in compliance with all International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations, and offer specialized handling for animals, as well as convenient tracking options so you can map where your animal friend is at all times.
Some restrictions apply. Please visit Air Canada Cargo's website for more information.
Pets may not be accepted on flights operated by codeshare and interline partners. It is strongly recommended that you contact any codeshare partners or other airlines directly to familiarize yourself with their individual policies regarding pet travel.
