Air Europa

Air Europa is the one of the largest airlines in Spain and a proud member of the SkyTeam global airline network. They offer regular service to over 40 destinations in some 17 countries, including stops in Europe, the United States, Mexico, South America, and Africa.

Currently, they will allow pets to travel either as carry-on luggage in the cabin of the aircraft or as checked baggage in the cargo hold. Air Europa will gladly accept dogs, cats, small domestic birds, and some rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs, or small rabbits) for in-cabin transportation, as long as all conditions are met. For animals travelling in the cargo hold the list also includes amphibians, insects, reptiles, rodents (other than hamsters, guinea pigs, or small rabbits), and ferrets.

Fees for transporting pets are based on the following:

  • Domestic flights - within Spain and the Balearic Islands
  • Medium haul flights - Europe, Canary Islands, and Africa
  • Long haul flights - all other destinations (North America, South America, Mexico)

Restrictions

  • It is strongly recommended that you contact the consulate, embassy, or government authority for any country (or countries) you will be visiting to ensure that you have met all entrance requirements.
  • Space for pet travel is limited. Please call before you travel to ensure that your animal friend will be able to travel with you.
  • Maximum container size for any Air Europa flight must not exceed total dimensions (length + width + height) of 406 linear cm (160 in).
  • Certain breeds of dogs may be refused acceptance or be required to wear a muzzle during travel. Please speak to a service agent or see website for further details.
  • All carriers must meet International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards.

If you are unable to travel with your pet

Air Europa will not generally accept unaccompanied or unauthorized pets on any flight. They may be able to accommodate unaccompanied pets travelling with Air Europa Cargo or with SkyTeam Cargo. Please contact a service agent to discuss any options that may be available to you.

Codeshare flights

Pets may not be accepted on flights operated by codeshare partners. It is strongly recommended that you contact any codeshare partners or other airlines directly to familiarize yourself with their individual policies regarding pet travel.
