SWISS

SWISS is the national carrier of Switzerland and a proud member of the Star Alliance family, the world's largest airline network. From their central hub in Zurich (as well as hubs in Geneva and Basel), SWISS flies to some 70 airports in 37 countries. They currently offer regular service to destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, North America, South America, and the Caribbean.

They will accept small dogs and cats for travel in the cabin of the aircraft, and will also accept animals for transport in the cargo hold of the aircraft, provided that all requirements are met. SWISS complies with all International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards and regulations when transporting live animals.

Restrictions

  • It is strongly recommended that you contact the consulate, embassy, or government authority for any country (or countries) you will be visiting to ensure that you have met all entrance requirements.
  • Space for pet travel is limited. Please call before you travel to ensure that your animal friend will be able to travel with you.
  • Anyone travelling with a pet is advised that some countries do not allow animals to be transported in the cabin or as checked baggage. Animal travelling to these countries may only be checked in as cargo freight. Please contact a service agent for further details.

If you are not able to accompany your pet SWISS advises travelers to contact Swiss WorldCargo as early as possible to determine what options may be available to you.

Codeshare flights

Pets may not be accepted on flights operated by codeshare partners. It is strongly recommended that you contact any codeshare partners or other airlines directly to familiarize yourself with their individual policies regarding pet travel.
